July 4th

The blog posts might be going backwards but at least I'm posting them, right?!  We went out to Snoqualmie on the 4th of July to spend the day with our friends, Desiree and Tyson who we know from back home.  It was SO nice to spend the holiday with friendly faces.  They have a little boy, Tiger, who's 9 months or so older than Olivia and they play really well together.  Fun times!!

Good to go!

Almost parade time!

Look at all those kiddos ready for the parade.

After the parade was the kids festival.  Take a look at that view!

What's a festival without pizza?

And face painting!

Popsicle time for Tiger and Olivia

Cool tattoos!

After a day of playing, we stuck all the kids in front of the Disney channel in hopes that some of them would stay awake long enough to see the fireworks.  It didn't get dark here until after 9:00pm.

Sparklers started at dusk.

Not all the kids made it to firework time but Olivia did!  She was much more interested in sparklers than the actual fireworks but no surprise there.

I hope everyone had a great July 4th!!

Summer Livin'

The weather in Redmond is beautiful right now - 75 and sunny most days.  We get the occasional gray skies but weekends like this one definitely make up for them.  Today we went to Idylwood Beach Park, which is about 10 minutes away from the house on Lake Sammamish.  It has a great shallow area that is perfect for Olivia sized people, sand, grassy places for relaxing in the shade, a playground and of course, ICE CREAM!  We had such a wonderful afternoon.

Swimming time!

Olivia and Mike made two "muddy puddles", this was the first one.

Who scowls while eating ice cream?  A kid who doesn't want to be photographed.

That's better!

Happy Sunday!!
